„Grosse Quinta inmitten eines wunderschönen botanischen Gartens, und praktischer Flughafennähe
Quinta Spledida liegt nahe beim Flughafen von Madeira, in Caniço, das heisst: sehr praktisch für einen Aufenthalt bei Ankunft oder Abreise. Das Hotel ist sehr gross, weitläufig und liegt inmitten eines sehr schön angelegten grossen Gartens, welcher auch öffentlich als botanischer Garten besucht wird. Die Poolarea hat eine Poolbar, ist gross, schön angelegt, mit Aussicht auf das entfernte Meer. Das Dorf Caniço selber bietet nicht viel, ausser 1-2 akzeptable Restaurants. Am Einfachsten ist es, gleich in der Quinta Splendida zu essen. Auch Caniço de Baixo am Meer unten ist nicht sehr attraktiv: einige Beton-Hotelbauten, mittelmässige Restaurants sowie betonierte Plattformen am Strand, von wo aus man schwimmen gehen kann, falls es die raue See erlaubt (hohe Wellen, steiniger Strand). Als naher Ausflug attraktiver ist die äusserste Ost-Ecke der Insel: Ponta de Sao Lourenço mit kargen, jedoch sehr imposanten und fotogenen Felsenlandschaften. Die Quinta Splendida ist bereits etwas in die Jahre gekommen, die Zimmer bieten jedoch allen Komfort und sind gepflegt. Empfehlenswert sind die Zimmer bei der Poolarea z.B. Nr. 1066 bis 1074. Es gibt auch grosse Familienstudios welche gut ausgestattet sind mit 2 Schlafzimmer, und 2 Badezimmer, Wohnzimmer, einer Küchenzeile und Balkon, z.B. Studio Nr 1009 liegt sehr schön und eignet sich für einen längeren Aufenthalt.
Das Hauptrestaurant Galeria ist etwas unpersönlich und auch auf Gruppenabfertigung ausgerichtet. Das kleinere schönere "La Perla" im alten Hauptgebäude der Quinta ist nicht immer geöffnet.
